OOTP Baseball 27 · New York Mets · NL East
The most dominant season in the league’s recorded history ended with the last out at Yankee Stadium. The Mets finished 117–45 — 32 games clear in the NL East and 28 better than any other team in baseball — closed with a 21–5 September, and took the top seed and a first-round bye. October went the same way: the Dodgers in four, the Diamondbacks (the only club to beat them in a series all year) in six, and the Yankees in five, clinched in the Bronx on October 28. A fifth straight division title, and this save’s first championship.
Thomas Joaquin took the NLCS trophy and then the World Series one a week later — .355 with four homers and 10 RBI across the postseason, and 7-for-20 against the Yankees. The catcher who started the year as a “quiet career year” finished it as the face of a champion. Trey Snyder was Division Series MVP.
